On a sunny terrace, taking orders table by table costs as much time as making the sandwiches. With a QR code per table, customers scan, choose their sandwich and pay on the spot. Staff only carry out and clear.

On a terrace with twenty tables, waiting times spiral fast. The QR flow flips that around.

How it unfolded

From first conversation to live.

  1. 1

    Intake call

    We map the terrace: number of tables, mix of solo guests and groups, average dwell time. We agree on how many QR zones we set up and which menu is available per zone.

    POS partner alignment

    Connection to the existing POS, with table numbers mapped to the POS zones. Modifier structure (bread type, fillings, dressing, drink) validated.

  3. 3

    Setup and connection

    QR codes printed per table, with table number and section. Staff trained briefly: the order lands on the ticket queue with the table number, they pick up and deliver.

  4. 4

    Go live

    Live on the first sunny Saturday. First customers scan on their own, no explanation needed. By the end of service, the flow is the new default.

How we solved it

  • QR ordering on every terrace table, connected to the existing POS.
  • The table number travels automatically with the order, no mix-ups between tables.
  • Payment up front via Bancontact, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — no separate settlement at the end.
  • Re-ordering from the same table: a second round of drinks, dessert, coffee — all on the same QR.
  • QR ordering included in the EUR 100/month online ordering plan, or standalone at EUR 49/month.
